Professional Licensure Information
This is a program that leads to professional licensure. Some professions require state (includes U.S. territories and districts) licensure or certification beyond your degree to hold a position in that field. Professional licensure regulations and requirements vary from field to field, and from state to state. Each state has an authority, be it public or private, that is responsible for overseeing the licensure requirements of the various professions in that state.
In accordance with U.S. federal regulation 34 CFR § 668.14(b)(32)(i) and (ii); and NC-SARA Policy Manual 25.2 section 5.2; UM is required to disclose to students if the curriculum offered does not meet the specific state educational requirements needed to attain professional licensure. If you are a student physically located in a state in which UM does not meet professional licensure requirements, you will be required to complete an attestation form prior to enrollment. Admission to the program will be finalized once the attestation is completed by the student and verified by the Office of Specialty and Extended Programs.
